(ARA) - A child's autism diagnosis often leaves parents overwhelmed. Reactions similar to the grieving process start - shock, denial and eventually acceptance - and during this process parents desperately seek answers to their many questions.
These questions are wide-ranging and include issues like the challenges of the educational system and special needs programs; how one addresses puberty with a child with autism; personal safety concerns for those children who may have no concept of personal danger or when they are being taken advantage of; and what kind of job opportunities may exist beyond graduation. And the two biggest questions: How will my child learn to be able to live on his own as an adult and how will my child fare in the world once I am gone?

(ARA) - Seeing the results of their federal tax return is a happier experience for more Americans this year. From credits for homebuyers and energy-efficient home improvements, to increases for the Earned Income Tax credit and standard deduction, the majority of taxpayers will receive a bigger refund or less tax owed on 2009 returns.
Despite the number of tax changes, experts agree doing your own taxes is still easy, fast and affordable. "The key this year is to get organized beforehand and to allow for a bit of extra time to make sure you don't leave any money on the table," says Jessi Dolmage, spokeswoman for 2nd Story Software, the makers of TaxACT.

A new look to credit card statements |

(ARA) - Customers can expect a new look to their credit card statements - the enhancements are designed to help consumers better understand their accounts and will be introduced in February when the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure of 2009, also known as the CARD Act, goes into effect.
In addition to layout improvements, the new statements are easier to read and include information about how long it will take and how much it will cost to pay off your balance if you only make minimum payments.
